Skill Development Initiatives
Worldwide, young people are three times more likely to be out of work than their parents according to a report recently released by McKinsey Center for Government. As per International Labor Organization estimates, over 75 million young people are unemployed across the world. Paradoxically, 57% of the employers worldwide are not able to find entry-level skilled workforce.
The story is no different for India, which continues to be at the epicenter of the world for its youth talent force. The immense talent scarcity industry faces today requires out-of- the-box thinking, decoding issues related to employability skills access, affordability and accreditation – a kind of Blue Ocean Strategy to look at the demographic dividend from a whole new perspective.
At the same time, large section of the country’s Youth is looking for economic and livelihood opportunities. In this context, to promote Skill Development in the country, Interact HR Consultants is associated with the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-2.
It is a modified and improved version of PMKVY 2015-2016. It is the flagship outcome-based Skill Training Scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This Skill Certification Scheme aims to enable and mobilize a large number of Indian Youth to take up skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood.
The objective of PMKVY-2 is to encourage and promote Skill Development for the Youth throughout the country by aligning itself with the Common Norms and guidelines. The scheme also needs to be aligned to complement all other Missions of the Government, such as Make in India, Digital India, Swachh Bharat, and Smart Cities.
Some of the initial milestones in this direction include:
- Empaneled with more than 50 plus potential skill training centers across the country.
- Set up Interact HR Consultants Workforce to tap vast potential of skilled labour and then
bridge demand – supply gap by providing for placement opportunities in the global market.
